Johann Sebastian Bach, a renowned German composer and musician of the Baroque era, died in 1750, so he did not live until 1889. However, by 1889, Bach's music was undergoing a resurgence in popularity, thanks to the efforts of 19th-century composers and musicians such as Felix Mendelssohn, who had revived interest in his works earlier in the century.
