The Story

R    ca 1890   Longman's Green & Co. Printed in London

Printed to accompany the sixth edition of Ronald's book of the same title. Letterpress title and 12 pp. of text on 8 leaves, these leaves interleaved with six leaves made of vellum strips sewn together to form four pockets per page, at the center a pair of leaves
of white felt, flanking a single vellum leaf. The pockets and felts with a total of 27 actual examples of eyeless trout and salmon flies—most with attached gut. Original morocco wallet with strap, holder and clasp all still present. Some minor deterioration to some of the flies but a nice set of flies that were made over 130 years ago. Fly wallets were quite popular in the 19th century.
