When hunters arrive and he is trapped by his unwanted guests, Thidwick escapes only because moose shed their antlers each year—leaving the freeloading animals behind. The story blends humor with a lesson about setting boundaries and the limits of kindness, showcasing Dr. Seuss’s trademark imagination and moral wit.
