Winnie-the-Pooh is a beloved fictional bear created by the English writer A. A. Milne, first appearing in the 1926 book Winnie-the-Pooh, which Milne wrote for his young son, Christopher Robin. Inspired by his son’s stuffed animals, Milne created gentle, humorous stories set in the Hundred Acre Wood, featuring characters like Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger, whose simple adventures explore friendship, kindness, and imagination. Milne’s writing combines childlike innocence with subtle wit and philosophical charm, helping the Pooh stories become enduring classics of children’s literature enjoyed by both children and adults around the world.

E. H. Shepard was the illustrator whose distinctive drawings gave Winnie-the-Pooh its iconic visual identity.
