he Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain is a historical novel set in 16th-century England that tells the story of two boys who look exactly alike but come from very different worlds. One is Tom Canty, a poor beggar living in London, and the other is Prince Edward, the future King Edward VI. When they meet and switch places out of curiosity, each is forced to experience the hardships and realities of the other’s life.
